Autumn Wedding Showcase
During the weekend of October 15th and 16th Grittleton House opened its doors for its Autumn Wedding Showcase. Whether they had already secured their date or were simply intrigued to take a look around, we were really excited to welcome couples to Grittleton – not only to showcase our amazing venue but also to provide them with inspiration by the bucketload!
The aim was to offer a relaxed and informal opportunity for couples to view the venue set-up for a wedding. In collaboration with our recommended suppliers we provide inspiration for ceremony set-ups, reception layouts and other types of decoration. We also invite along our recommended photographers to display their images in our Photographers Gallery and open the doors to our guest bedrooms (both in the house and in the Stables) all in the hopes that it will help with your wedding planning.
The Red Gallery
With various rooms to choose from, Grittleton House really does offer a vast array of opportunities for your celebration. For the first time ever, we decided to showcase a ceremony set-up in the Red Gallery. Nicole from the Floral Studio in Purton brought the room to life with warm-coloured florals and metallic accents. The room was completed by a contemporary archway provided by Burnt Orange Events. Draped with fabric and embellished with even more flowers, I think you’ll agree that it provided the perfect statement entrance!
The Yellow Gallery
The Yellow Gallery was set-up to showcase a sit-down reception. The long banquet-style tables displayed a beautiful ombre colour scheme which was not only reflected in the floral styling but also in the biscuit favours and statement wedding cake. We received so many wonderful comments during the weekend about this set-up which really is testament to the hard work of Caroline from Foxy Buds and Sarah from Cakes by Mrs F.
The Orangery
Where do we start?! Overlooking the Italian sunken gardens this is such a versatile space. Here you can choose to have your ceremony or your reception (or perhaps both!). During the showcase weekend we utilised the central part of the Orangery for a ceremony set-up – perfectly placed to look out over the gardens and expertly decorated with florals. We particularly loved how Emily from Persephone Violet utilised the flower tray to display a cacophony of hanging elements. At either end of the Orangery we provided a whole host of inspiration for receptions whether you are considering long banquet tables or intimate round tables. We had cascading flower displays, autumnal centrepieces, towering florals and more expertly created by our recommended florists Beaufort Blooms, Emma Norton, The Fresh Flower Company and Wendy House Flowers!
And even more…
A recent addition this year is our new party room! Located directly opposite the bar, the Billiard Room has been recently refurbished to provide a hub for your evening reception. Here you would have found our recommended DJs, photobooths and other evening entertainment provided by JW Disco and Eventimate.
Other exciting elements during the showcase weekend included an amazing flower display at the bottom of the central staircase created by Jill Jeffries, our recommended Photographers Gallery, the magnificent Drawing Room where you have the opportunity to get ready during the morning of your wedding and our ever-increasing number of en-suite guest bedrooms, each one decorated in its own unique style.
